Product Overview

Full indications:
The Assurance hemostatic clip is indicated for endoscopic clip placement within the gastrointestinal tract for the purpose of:

  1. Endoscopic marking
  2. Hemostasis for:
    • Mucosal/sub-mucosal defects <3cm
    • Bleeding ulcers
    • Arteries <2mm
    • Polyps <1.5cm in diameter
    • Diverticula in the colon
    • Prophylactic clipping to reduce the risk of delayed bleeding post lesion resection
  3. Anchoring to affix jejunal feeding tubes to the wall of the small bowel
  4. As a supplementary method, closure of GI tract luminal perforations <20mm that can be treated conservatively

How the Assurance Clip Works and Affects Patient Flow and Outcomes

Hemostatic clips are suggested for the treatment of gastrointestinal bleeding and have been shown to be more effective for the treatment of GI bleeding than other modalities, such as epinephrine injection alone.1 Prophylactic endoscopic clip closure of large mucosal defects following polyp resection has also been demonstrated to reduce the risk of post procedure bleeding. 2,3

The Assurance hemostatic clip offers 360-degree, one-to-one rotation, ability to reposition the clip multiple times prior to deployment, opening widths of 9, 11, 13, 16, and 18 millimeters and a retained clip length of 12.5 - 14.5mm millimeters.

Why the Assurance Clip?

The Assurance endoscopic clip:

  • Offers a 12.5 - 14.5mm deployed length, allowing for maneuverability when deploying additional GI clips
  • Can be opened/closed multiple times for positioning prior to deployment
  • Allows for smooth passage through the working channel in tortuous endoscope positions
  • Deploys in a single step with audible and tactile feedback

WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS:

Precaution: It is recommended that healthcare providers distribute Patient Implant Cards with the name of the clip and date it was placed.

Warning: Failure to follow the recommended MR Conditional labeling may result in a deployed GI hemoclip dislodging from tissue or heating of tissue at the GI hemoclip location. A GI hemoclip dislodgement may result in rebleeding requiring additional intervention or surgery, serious injury, or death.
