Product Overview

The STERIS Certified Pre-Owned DSD Edge™ Automated Endoscope Preprocessor (AER) is a dual basin unit that provides high-level disinfection as fast as 22 minutes and incorporates two fully independent and asynchronous reprocessing basins using single-use peracetic acid chemistry RAPICIDE™ PA disinfectant. Additionally, the DSD Edge AER offers performance-enhancing features like an endoscope leak test, alcohol air purge, cycle information printing, a pre-filtration system, built-in air compressors, and more.

This refurbished DSD Edge AER is designed to use RAPICIDE™ PA High-Level Disinfectant, a single-use and environmentally friendly peracetic acid-based disinfectant. After the disinfecting cycle, an automated alcohol flush supports the air drying of endoscope channels. The large, dual basins accommodate most endoscope sizes and allow biomedical engineers to process two scopes simultaneously or on independent cycles for a continuous workflow.

Each STERIS Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) DSD Edge AER is thoroughly inspected and refurbished as part of an extensive process conducted by certified technicians. The unit is ensured to meet STERIS specifications to be like-new aesthetically and operationally.

Medivators AERs from STERIS CPO are refurbished products that undergo precise STERIS certification process. STERIS CPO technicians thoroughly inspect and refurbish each unit to meet STERIS specifications to be like-new aesthetically and operationally.

Diagnostics/Inspections

Through this step STERIS CPO technicians ensure quality and adherence to OEM standards, committed to preserving equipment reliability. Our program conducts a series of thorough inspections.

  • Inspect the unit for leaks
  • Verify Leak Tester option functionality
  • Verify the operation of the GFI outlet
  • Verify adjustment of drain times
  • Extensive cycle validation to ensure functionality
  • Check the unit for proper labeling and clean area. Wipe down the unit.
  • Open all valves and allow water to escape all valves and no pooling water

Conditional Replacement/Refurbishment

STERIS CPO refurbishes each Medivators AER to meet the OEM performance and quality standards. Our AER Certification Process restores equipment as an all-encompassing service.

  • Rebuild all valves
  • Replace valve seals
  • Replace filters
  • Replace disinfection pump
  • Replace the scanner and monitor
  • Replace damaged, discolored or stained plastic exterior components
  • Rebuild the SSG unit
  • Replace tubing and hoses
  • Replace dosing pumps
  • Replace o-rings on pumps, dosing reservoirs, and drain manifold
  • Replace springs and rubber balls on dosing reservoirs
  • Replace the squeeze tube for the alcohol and detergent delivery pump
